How to use this resource

As there are enough place value mats to cover numbers 1-30, you can use this resource with your entire class ensuring each student receives a different number to build. As this resource covers numbers 1-30 it is differentiated and students can choose to build a number that suits where they are in their learning.

This place value resource can also be used with smaller groups or as a Math center and can either be laminated or placed in dry erase pockets ensuring the mats are more durable. Your students can represent the number by using base ten materials or unifix cubes. Don't worry if you don't have these available as you can build the numbers using loose parts too. I've found stones, shells ad buttons work particularly well!
