Polar Animals Activities Preschool Kindergarten Project
 
This Polar Animal Project includes various polar animal activities and is suitable for Preschool and Kindergarten students who are learning all about polar animals. These play based polar animal activities help to develop students' ELA and Math skills as well as their creative skills through a more play-based approach. 
 
These polar animal activities should be used along with my Free Rainbow Activity Display Pack as you and your students can use this to keep track of what activities they have completed. Your kids will love being able to take ownership of their learning and will feel more independent as they will be more in control of what activities they complete when!

Full Description of Polar Animal Project
 
First download my Rainbow Activity Display Labels to go along with this resource. 
Set up this display in your classroom showing all your students names. Add an envelope or plastic folder under each student’s name to store their colored lolly sticks, counters etc.
Print off your chosen project activity display labels, instruction cards, question cards and activity resources. 
There will be 7 different activities for your students to complete over the week. Assign each activity a color of the rainbow. 
Set up each activity around your classroom ensuring your students can access the instructions and resources they need. Add the activity display labels to your Rainbow Activity display with the corresponding color.
Your students can complete each Polar Animal activity over the week. Once they have completed each activity, they can place a lolly stick, counter etc of the corresponding color into their pocket underneath their name until they have completed all 7 activities to make a rainbow!
Use the question cards for each activity to stimulate discussions about your student’s learning. 
 
Polar Animal Build a Habitat
 
Choose a polar animal card. Design and build a suitable habitat for your polar animal. You can use different materials such as building blocks, Lego bricks or modelling clay etc. Draw your animal’s habitat on the design worksheet.
 
Polar Animal Beginning Sounds Jigsaws
 
Look at the picture of the polar animal. What sound does your polar animal begin with? Can you match it to the correct beginning sound?
 
Polar Animal Finger Puppets
 
Choose a polar animal finger puppet to make. Once you have made your puppet, can you create a story using your polar animal puppet?
 
Polar Animal Measuring
 
Look at the penguins, wolves and arctic hares. They are all different sizes.
 
•Use cubes to measure how tall the penguins are.
•Use counters to measure how long the wolves are.
•Use objects of your choice to measure how tall the artic hares are.
 
Move Like a Polar Animal
 
Choose a polar animal movement card. Ask an adult to help you read the card. Can you move like your chosen polar animal? Can you describe how your polar animal moves?
 
Polar Animal Rocker Craft
 
Choose a polar animal rocker craft to make. Color and decorate your polar animal craft. Cut out your craft pieces then glue on your polar animal to the rocker. Watch your polar animal rock!
 
Polar Animal Ten Frame Counting
 
Choose a ten frame and read the number on the penguin. Can you count that number of objects on to your ten frame?
